Meet Coach Phillip
Abraham Philips played NCAA Division One at Grambling State University, where he led his team to conference championships, played line 1, and graduated with a degree in marketing. Coach Philips is a well-qualified teaching pro with over 35 years of experience. His coaching experience has resulted in students receiving College Scholarships, play in the Jr. US Open, Orange Bowl, Port Washington Junior Nationals, Kalamazoo Junior Nationals, Winter Junior Nationals, National Hard Court, National Clay Court, just to name a few. Coach Philips players have won multiple Texas Junior Grand Slams, Texas Excellence, Super Champions both boys and girls of all ages and have students ranked number one in Texas as well as nationally ranked players. International events include ITF (International Tennis Federation) and ATP (Association of Tennis Professional) tournaments in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and other South American countries. Professional events include ITF Men’s Tournaments, Jamaica Federation Cup, Houston Men’s Clay Court 250, Governor’s Cup, Valencia Open 500, and other pro tournaments in Nigeria and Egypt. Coach Philips is a tennis coach in Texas who worked his way up to purchase an indoor member-only club, which he owned and managed for 10 years prior to selling in 2007. |
Meet Bayo Phillip
Bayo Philips played Division I tennis at Drake University (2014-2019), where he led his team to 3 conference titles playing lines 1-3 and graduated with a degree in advertising. With 20+ years of playing experience and 10 plus years of teaching both college and private tennis lessons as the Assistant Men’s Tennis Coach at Cleveland State University, Bayo has the experience on both sides of the game to cultivate champions, winners, and leaders.
Under the tutelage of Coach Abraham Philips, Bayo Philips was able to dominate Texas Tennis in Boy’s 16s and 18’s becoming #1 in each age group and winning The Texas Grand as well as multiple Texas Excellence tournaments. Similarly, on the national level, Bayo reached a high of #22 and upon high school graduation, was a 5-star Bluechip recruit. However, after his senior year, Bayo pursued a professional career training out of Villena, Spain at the Juan Carlos Ferrero Tennis Academy and was able to reach a doubles ranking of #1204.
We are currently teaching tennis lessons for children ages 4-16, or you can join our tennis development program that we offer to athletes of all ages and experience levels. Our program includes junior, adult, group, private, and homeschool tennis lessons. Our coaches will help you enhance your speed, endurance, and injury prevention skills.
